World Book Day - Dahl 07.03.2025
Date: 7th Mar 2025 @ 2:47pm
WORLD BOOK DAY WAS A BLAST!
What a brilliant day we have shared today as a class. It has been wonderful seeing you all dressed up as your favourite fantasy/fairytale characters! We had a whole class absence today as none of my pupils arrived!! Only people/characters I had never seen before. I met some wizards named Harry, Hermione, Ron and Malfoy, as well as many girls named Matilda and Alice and I of course could not forget the Mad Hatters! Either way, it was lovely to meet my new members of Dahl Class but I cannot wait to see all my usual children.
We started the day writing poems about a 'Love for Reading' using a rhyming structure and they were incredible. We then had a visit and workshop delivered by professional story teller Mike Dodsworth who capitavated all the children with his story about King Longbead and King Shortbeard.
In the afternoon, we spent some time as a class ordering books online to update and refresh our class library! We did spend quite a bit! Sorry Mrs Leonard! To round off an exciting and lovely day, we had an extended ERIC time where the children made themselves comfortable and enjoyed reading their chosen book of choice quietly.
Please do not forget to bring in any books next week that we can add to our 'Peer Recommendation' section of the library to continue to promote your love for reading.
Well done to our Pupil of the Week Summer! She has had a superb week and her confidence is blossoming day by day! Keep showing up with this improved confidence :)
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs Canty :)
