Wonderful World Book Day!

It has been an incredible day today celebrating all things book related! A lot of thought, time and effort went into the costumes everyone was wearing. We had a wide range of interesting and colourful characters in class today and even an incredibly inventive book fairy! A special shout out to Jaxon and his mum, for writing their own fantasy story about Declan Rice so he could dress up as the footballer today!

We kicked off the day with a special assembly, listening to Mike Dodsworth share a story and visited him again later on to get tips on how to become creative storytellers ourselves. Everyone wrote a poem about their journey through reading so far: all of the places books have taken them and characters they've met. We concluded the day with an extended ERIC (Everybody Reading In Class) time and creating a wish list of new books for our classroom.

Finally, a special mention to everyone in Lewis for their efforts on Wednesday. We visited Perryfields Infants, and each member of our class read a variety of books and stories to a child in reception. Lewis class were incredibly mature, friendly and fantastic advocates for our school. Well done again, all of you!
