Wonderful Walliams 20.09.2024

Date: 22nd Sep 2024 @ 3:41pm

What another fantastic week in Walliams Class! Walliams Class have settled in phenomenally to Year 3 life and I am extremely proud of all of them!

This week, the children have been extremely busy delving further into their new topics.

In Science, the children were investigating the properties of rocks. During the lesson, we completed investigations to discover which rocks were the most durable and whether there was a link between durability and permiability. The children were all extremely engaged in their learning and thought carefull about how to complete an experiment whilst keeping it a fair test.

In History this week, we were discussing the importance of artefacts in history. Throughout the lesson, we looked at a range of artefacts from the Stone Age era and discussed what they taught us about the Stone Age and how people lived. We then conducted a debate on whether artefacts were important to historians and why. All of the children agreed that without these artefacts, we would not know about what life was like and how it has changed when comparing it with life today.

In Computing, we looked at our first e-safety lesson of the year. During the lesson, we were looking at the difference between facts, opinions and beliefs online. The children were fascinated when learning about the 'Spaghetti plant' which was about an advert created by the BBC as an April Fools prank and we discussed the importance of being able to identify fake news.

Have a wonderful weekend!
