Another fantastic week of learning has flown by and what an incredible week it has been!
This week, our PSHE lessons sparked some brilliant discussions.
In our first lesson, we explored the importance of rules and laws where we delved into why we have them and how they keep us safe and respectful towards one another. The children shared wonderful examples of rules they follow at home, in school and in wider society.
In our second lesson, we turned our focus to human rights. We explored what they are, why they matter and how they apply to everyone, everywhere. The children were extremely engaged when discussing the right to education and how not every child around the world has the same opportunities as they do. It was heartwarming to hear their thoughtful responses about fairness and equality, showing just how much they value these rights.
In science, the children got stuck into an exciting investigation about how objects move on different surfacts. Using toy cars and raps covered in different materials, the children tested how the cars travelled depending on the surface. They children quickly noticed how friction impacted how the toy cars move and how rougher surfaces made it harder for the cars to move while smoother ones made it easier.
It was brilliant to see the children working scientifically, recording their observations and sharing ideas about how friction plays a role in everyday life.
In history, we began looking at the fastinating world of the Ancient Egyptians. During the lesson, we placed Ancient Egypt using what they already know about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. Using a timeline, the children began to understand where the Ancient Egyptians fit in history.
Finally, a huge congratulations to our 'Pupil of the Week' Albie! Keep up the phenomenal work!
Have a wonderful weekend!
