WOW! What another brilliant week in Walliams Class!

This week has been a fantastic journey of discovery across our lessons!

In our PSHE lesson, we explored the use of the internet and its many benefits. The children discussed how the internet helps us learn new things, stay connected with friends and family, and even entertain us with games and videos. We also spoke about the importance of staying safe online, making sure we only talk to people we know and using the internet responsibly. It was great to see everyone thinking carefully about how they use the internet in their daily lives!

In another hands-on science lesson, the children investigated the strength of different magnets! Using paperclips, they tested how many could be held in a chain by different types of magnets. It was fascinating to see how some magnets were much stronger than others, holding long chains of paperclips, while others could only manage a few. This experiment helped us understand the invisible forces of magnetism and how useful magnets can be in everyday life.

In History, we continued our topic of the Ancient Egyptians and explored the mysterious world of hieroglyphs. The children learned that hieroglyphs were used as a form of written communication by Egyptian scribes to record important information about religion, governance and daily life. We also discussed the significance of the Rosetta Stone, which helped historians decode hieroglyphs and unlock the secrets of ancient Egyptian writing. The children were particularly fascinated by cartouches, the oval-shaped inscriptions used to enclose the names of pharaohs and other important figures. To bring their learning to life, they created their own fact files about hieroglyphs, showcasing what they had discovered about this fascinating ancient script.

Finally, a huge congratulations to our 'Pupil of the Week' Oscar! Keep up the super work!

Have a wonderful weekend!
