Tolkien Class Update 31/1/25
Date: 31st Jan 2025 @ 4:06pm
This week in Tolkien class has been both engaging and educational, packed with a variety of activities that have truly ignited our curiosity! We kicked off the week by working scientifically on an experiment to illustrate the concept of day and night. Armed with globes and torches, the pupils had a fantastic time exploring how the Earth's rotation affects our view of the sun, and they grasped the concept brilliantly.
In our history segment, we delved into the world of Tudor times and discussed the intriguing topic of punishments used during that era. The children were fascinated (and somewhat shocked) to learn about the different types of penalties faced by those who broke the law in Tudor England—certainly a topic that sparked many lively discussions!
We also made a promising start on our Giacometti-inspired sculptures, creating wire frames that will be completed next week. The students demonstrated great creativity and enthusiasm as they shaped their visions.
Finally, we began planning our upcoming Tudor enterprise day, which we are all excited about. The children eagerly anticipate sharing their insights and learning experiences with you all and the rest of the school. What a wonderful week it's been in Tolkien class!
