Tolkien Class Update 6/12/24
Date: 9th Dec 2024 @ 7:59am
As the week drew to a close in Tolkien Class, the air was thick with excitement and achievement. Our learning journey had taken us through a tapestry of subjects, each thread weaving a vibrant picture of curiosity and discovery.
In English, we delved into the world of figurative language, crafting poems about the four seasons of the year. The children expressed their thoughts and feelings with metaphors and similes, allowing their imaginations to take flight. The classroom echoed with the rhythm of their words.
In Maths, we made a start on our fractions topic. The children tackled this new topic with enthusiasm, enhancing their skills and confidence. Fractions became less of an enigma and more of an adventure to explore.
In Geography, we soared into the heart of volcanic activity, analysing how these magnificent forces of nature formed. We examined notable volcanic eruptions in Europe during this century, sparking lively discussions about their impact on the environment and human life.
Highlighting the week was the exhilarating first round of our class talent show. The students showcased their remarkable skills with poise and creativity, undoubtedly leaving an impression. Congratulations are in order for Tia and Rosaline, who qualified for the next round!
Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate an action-packed week filled with the whole school pantomime on Thursday and the festive cheer of Christmas jumper and dinner day on Friday as well as school Christmas fayre on Friday afternoon.
