Tolkien Class Update 15/11/24

Date: 15th Nov 2024 @ 4:14pm

This week, Tolkien Class has been both engaging and productive, packed with a variety of learning experiences. We commenced the week by diving into the world of mathematics, starting our exploration of perimeter. The students enjoyed measuring various shapes and calculating their perimeters, laying a solid foundation for more complex geometry topics in the near future.

In geography, we continued our fascinating exploration of volcanoes, with a specific focus on Iceland. The students learned about the unique regions where volcanoes can be found, discussing the geographical and geological factors that contribute to their formation. This topic certainly sparked curiosity, and many students showed interest in the relationship between volcanoes and the natural landscape.

Our science lessons were equally intriguing, as we predicted which materials would serve as thermal and electrical conductors and insulators. Through hands-on experiments, the pupils were engaged and eager to test their hypotheses, demonstrating their understanding of these essential concepts of physical science.

In our PSHE session, we addressed an important theme: the causes and consequences of our actions. The class participated in creating a kindness pledge, reinforcing the value of empathy and compassion within our school community.

To round off an inspiring week, we had the pleasure of visiting Year 3 for their enterprise day. The children enjoyed learning about entrepreneurship while also embarking on planning their own design and technology projects. Overall, it has been a week filled with excitement, discovery, and collaboration.

Have a great weekend everyone!
