Ready for week 2...

Date: 9th Sep 2024 @ 7:56am

What a fantastic first week back we had! Everyone settled beautifully back into school routines and their new year group, well done Lewis Class!

In English, we wrote our own narratives involving acts of kindness, which went on to support the discussions in our PSHE lesson about the qualities of positive friendships. I'm sure everyone will endeavour to demonstrate these important qualities throughout the year. We enjoyed our first art lesson of the year, designing and creating inspiration boards including facts and information about Claude Monet, as well as our own interpretations of some of his most famous paintings.

Hopefully, everyone came home this week and told their grown ups about our game of "Reading Monopoly" in class. Every Monday, reading diaries will be collected and the number of times we read at home will be the number of spaces we move around the Chelmsford-themed board. Every location visited gets ticked on their Monopoly passport, if they land on "Chance" or "Community Chest" they could win house points or classroom incentives and every time they pass "Go" that's 20 house points in the bank! The children were very excited about our game, so please encourage lots of reading at home and remember to sign their reading diaries so they can start travelling around the board.

I hope everyone had a well-deserved rest over the weekend and are ready for our first WHOLE week of elarning together.
