This week has been an exciting and productive one for Morpurgo! From showcasing artistic talent to diving into important historical events and conducting hands-on science investigations, here’s what we’ve been up to:
Our science investigations focused on refraction, the fascinating phenomenon of light bending as it passes through different mediums. To bring this concept to life, we conducted experiments by placing items like pencils and coins into a glass of water. We observed how these objects appeared distorted or displaced, sparking some great questions and discussions about why this happens.
Our art lessons this week have been all about creativity and expression as we explored the world of collage. We created unique and visually striking pieces. It was wonderful to see the wide range of themes and ideas children chose to represent, from abstract designs to landscapes
In history, we’ve been exploring the Civil Rights Movement. We explored the different forms of protests that occurred during this period, such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, sit-ins, and the famous March on Washington. We learnt about key figures like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr., discussing how their leadership inspired change.
Well done to Joshua for being awarded our Pupil of the Week.
Have a great weekend.
