Another great week in Morpurgo Class.

In science, we took a deep dive into the digestive system, learning all about the different organs involved and their functions. It was fascinating to learn how enzymes and stomach acid help break down food so our bodies can absorb nutrients. After our discussion, we labelled a detailed diagram of the digestive system to help reinforce our understanding. Some of us were surprised by just how much happens inside our bodies when we eat!

In geography, we turned our focus to coastal flooding and the ways communities in the UK protect themselves against it. We discussed real-life examples of flooding and the impact it has on people’s homes, businesses, and daily lives. We learnt about different flood prevention methods, including sea walls, flood barriers, and natural solutions like planting vegetation to absorb excess water.

Well done Isla for being awarded our Pupil of the Week.

Have a great weekend 😊
