What a busy and exciting week it has been in Year 6! The children have been working incredibly hard across all subjects, showing great enthusiasm and determination in their learning.
In English, the children have been writing formal letters of complaint about a zoo, carefully incorporating formal language and the subjunctive form. Their persuasive writing skills have been impressive, and they have worked hard to ensure their arguments are clear, structured, and convincing.
In History, the class explored the Civil Rights Movement, researching influential figures who played a key role in the fight for equality. They then created detailed case studies, showcasing their understanding of the struggles and achievements of these individuals.
In Science, we investigated shadows and explored which materials produce the darkest shadow. The children examined objects that were opaque, translucent, and transparent, carefully considering how light interacts with different materials. I was particularly impressed by how they thought about all the variables to ensure their experiment was a fair test. Their scientific thinking and teamwork were excellent!
Have a brilliant weekend 😊
