Lewis Class 19.01.2024

Date: 21st Jan 2024 @ 9:44pm

What another superb week in Lewis Class!

This week, the children continued writing their informal letters linked to the story 'Escape from Pompeii'. During our lessons, the children have been thinking carefully about using informal language, emotive language and show-not-tell which have enabled them to portray their emotions to the reader.

In maths, the children have continued looking at division where they have been looking at dividing with exchanging, dividing with remainders and correspondence problems. All of the children have shown determination and perseverance which have enabled them to succeed when solving some challenging problems this week!

In the afternoons, the children have delved into their subjects in more depth.

In Science, we have continued our unit on Sound where we were looking at how sound travels and how we can hear different sounds.

In Computing, we have started looking at Scratch. During the lesson, we recapped what the children could remember from their previous learning in Year 3 and began building on this knowledge by looking at new features within the program.

In History, we used our research skills to find out more about the Roman Army and how it enabled the Romans to succeed in battles against the Celts.

Well done to our 'Pupil of the Week' Alice for her determination and perseverance in maths this week - keep up the phenomenal work Alice!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Miss Kingston :)
