What a wonderful week in Lewis Class!
We have been extremely busy with lots of enrichment activities in the afternoons this week!
On Monday afternoon, the children went to Year 4 Superstars where they competed against lots of other year 4 children from other schools in a range of sporting activities. All of the children showed determination, perseverance and great sportsmanship throughout the afternoon – fantastic work everyone!
On Wednesday afternoon, we celebrated Safer Internet Day by completing a range of activities that got us thinking about staying safe online and how things online could influence our behaviour and decisions. We also looked at how technology has changed over the years and the children were fascinated with how much technology had changed and the impact it has had on our lives today.
On Friday afternoon, we continued our Science unit of sound where we investigated what happens to sounds as we get further away. During the lesson, the children conducted an investigation to discover what happens to the level of sound when distance is increased between a drum and a decibel reader. The children discovered that the sound got fainter as the distance increased.
On Monday (12/02), we will be going on our Colchester Castle trip to discover more about the Romans. Please ensure that the children bring a packed lunch, water bottle and their coat with them to school.
Well done to our ‘Pupil of the Week’ Nicole for her hard work and for always challenging herself in her learning – keep up the fantastic work Nicole!
