Headteacher Update-19th July
Date: 22nd Jul 2024 @ 7:07am
Firstly, well done to our Year 5/6 netball squad who competed in the County Finals on Wednesday. They played against the best teams in Essex and secured 2nd place overall! This is a remarkable achievement-congratulations to all the squad, Miss Gregory (super coach) and Miss Howlett (sous-coach)!
As we approach our last few days in school, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing staff. Each and every one of them works relentlessly hard to make things as good as they possibly can be for the children in our care. I am confident that they are in an excellent place to continue to achieve lots more success in the future. Included in our team are a group of hardworking governors who also work very hard in the background to help us ensure that Perryfields continues to be a great school.
This is a particularly special time for our Year 6 children as we say farewell to them all. They have shown us what great resilience, creativity and strength of character they have since joining us in September 2020. It is with great pride that we send them off to their secondary schools knowing they will be outstanding role models to others; they go with our love and good wishes for a wonderful summer and great start at their new schools in the autumn. Their Pied Piper production was absolutely magnificent; I was lucky enough to watch it 3 times and it just got better and better!
Finally – a fond goodbye to all staff who are moving on to pastures new; I have written separately to you all about Miss Howlett’s promotion to Head of School in Wickford; Miss Ford has decided not to return from maternity leave but to spend more precious time with her son and Mrs Cebotari will be pursuing a different career path. We will miss them all and wish them all the very best for the future and thank them for their contribution to Perryfields Junior School. At this point, I should like to take the opportunity to wish Miss Boyle a very happy wedding day and look forward to welcoming her back as Mrs Markscheffel in September!
