Headteacher Update - 11/10/24

A big well done to our two mixed Tag Rugby teams for their incredible skill and determination in this week’s inter-school competition—outstanding efforts from everyone! Our Sports Captains and GTS (sometimes fondly referred to as Change 4 Life) Ambassadors also had a fantastic time at the Bronze Ambassador training, delivered by Mandy Morris from Chelmsford Sports Partnership. The session focused on 'Leadership within Sport,' equipping our sports leaders with the tools to organise and lead playground games, GTS Club activities and House competitions across the school. A huge thank you to Mandy for her valuable support!

This week, our students had the privilege of participating in an inspiring assembly to celebrate Black History Month, led by Miss Richards. The assembly highlighted the rich cultural heritage and remarkable achievements of Black individuals throughout history. The children were fully engaged, enjoying activities such as poetry, learning about influential historical figures, and participating in an exciting quiz! Miss Richards also posed the thought-provoking question: 'Should Black History only be celebrated in October?' The students agreed—'No! It should be celebrated all year round.' Following the assembly, the children took part in an enrichment afternoon, where they explored various aspects of Black culture through hands-on activities. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to reflect on the importance of diversity and inclusion, and we are deeply grateful to Miss Richards for her leadership and dedication throughout the experience.

Each week, we are incredibly proud to celebrate our brilliant pupils who go above and beyond in their learning, behavior, and contributions to our school community. These students have shown exceptional dedication, creativity, and kindness, setting a wonderful example for their peers. Whether it’s through academic achievements, acts of kindness, or demonstrating resilience, they embody the values we hold dear. A huge congratulations to this week’s stars – your hard work and positive attitude do not go unnoticed! Keep up the fantastic effort!
