Headteacher Round-up!

Date: 7th Sep 2023 @ 11:15am

Welcome back one and all to the start of another exciting school year at Perryfields Junior School! It has been wonderful to welcome your children back to school this week and to see all of you at the gate. I have enjoyed hearing about all of the lovely holidays and fun things that the children have been up to over the summer.

In particular, I would like to welcome our new Year 3 children, parents and carers who have just joined us – I feel sure that you will soon feel part of our school community and we are very much looking forward to working in partnership with you. I have to say that we are all so impressed with the way all our children have settled back into school life-I have been visiting all the classes over the past few days and the learning behaviours are exemplary!

I should also like to take this opportunity to welcome new members of our teaching staff this year – Ms Leader will be leading Potter class and Mr McGuiness and Mr Smith will be supporting in both upper and lower school. Also, we are delighted to let you know that Miss Bowers was married in the holidays and is now Mrs Canty and Miss Ford’s new son, Noah James arrived safely-mum and baby are doing very well and we look forward to seeing them both in the new term.

Improving our Environment

We are very pleased to see that our new roof has almost been completed and the new toilets in Years 4 and Year 5 were installed during the summer break- a massive thank you to our site Manager, Mr Quilter and our Business Manager, Mrs Leonard for over -seeing these projects over the past few weeks.

Without doubt 2023/24 promises to be another super year at PJS; once again I am looking forward to working with all our community to ensure that our children have an enjoyable and valuable time here.
