Headteacher Round-up!
Date: 17th Jul 2023 @ 9:16am
Firstly, well done to our netball team who competed in the Chelmsford netball finals on Monday. Lots of determination and perseverance on show-we were all very impressed with the improvements in the team’s skill and team work since the opening rounds and they should all feel very proud of their achievements. Well done! Thank you to all our parents who came to support us and of course Miss Gregory for coaching the team.
A massive thank you to Suzanne Davidson (Founder of Get You Get Others) who came into school to present an assembly focussing on how to manage our anxieties. Suzanne reminded the children that they are all different and therefore can become anxious or worried about different things. Suzanne also talked through a ‘tool box’ that we can open when feeling anxious-breathing, positive thinking ad weighing up how bad our problem really is. The children really enjoyed listening to Suzanne and I am sure they took lots of information away with them that will benefit them now and in the future. Thank you Miss Howlett for organising this very useful presentation.
It was lovely to meet lots of our prospective Year 3 parents on Wednesday; our Year 6 children were outstanding guides, making sure that our new parents were well informed about all our routines and facilities. House points were awarded to Year 6 for outstanding manners!
We all enjoyed a brilliant Careers Day on Wednesday. We had visitors from lots of different professions, including a doctor, an author, a firefighter, a financial trader, project managers, a civil servant, company directors and executives and police officers. We are so grateful that they gave up their own valuable time to come into school and inspire our children with information about their work-thank you! And huge thank you to Miss Howlett for organising this inspirational curriculum enrichment!
Also, a huge thank you to our kind and generous Parents Association who organised a brilliant bouncy castle afternoon on Thursday-all the children enjoyed the event and it was lovely to see our whole school community enjoying the afternoon together. This event will raise much needed funds for our school and it just wouldn’t happen without the support of our all our staff who helped on the day-so once again, thank you very much!
