End of another brilliant year at Perryfields Junior School!

Dear Parents and Carers

I can’t believe that this is our last newsletter for the 2022/23 academic year-it has flown by so quickly!

Without doubt, It has been a memorable year for our school community and I would like to take this opportunity to say a few thankyou’s.

Firstly, I would like to thank the loyal and supportive band of parents that have helped make this year such a success in terms of the engaging, innovative and creative curriculum experiences we have been able to offer our children. Thank you to all those who have helped with transport to and from sporting venues, helped during our History off the Page Days or on trips or who have helped children at home with homework projects. However big or small each contribution is highly valued.

I would also like to thank our brilliant and kind FIPs for all their hard work putting on events that our children and community have enjoyed. The funds raised have benefitted all year groups throughout the year-as you know budgets are very tight and so every penny raised is really important. We have used the monies raised to replenish our playground equipment and our reading books.

Next, I would like to thank our amazing staff team. Each and every one of them works relentlessly hard to make things as good as they possibly can be. We have a fantastic team who are in a good place to continue to achieve lots of success in the future. Included in this team are a group of hardworking governors who also work very hard in the background to help us ensure that Perryfields continues to be a great school.

Sadly, for us, this is also the time of year when staff sometimes move to pastures new and I would like to take this opportunity to wish Miss MacDonald and Mr Taylor good luck in their new roles. I also wish Mrs Chandler a very happy retirement and the very best of luck to Miss Ford as she begins her maternity leave-we are looking forward to news of the safe arrival of the new baby! We are very grateful to you all for your hard work at PJS and the kindness you have shown our community. At this point, I should like to take the opportunity to wish Miss Bowers a very happy wedding day and look forward to welcoming her back as Mrs Canty in September!

Finally, I would like to thank our children. Every unique personality adds something special to the school. In all classes they embrace our ‘Not a moment wasted’ and most importantly, they have worked really hard to keep our school values at the heart of all they do. I must also mention our Year 6 leavers who have achieved outstanding SATS results this year; we will miss them very much next year but they are ready for the next step in their education and we wish them every success for the future! Your children are a credit to our school!

I hope you all have a super summer!
