Dahl Class Update 26/1/24
Date: 26th Jan 2024 @ 4:19pm
This week really has flown by!
It may have flown by but this week has been another productive week iof learning for the children of Dahl Class. We started the week in English focusing on direct speech and how to punctuate this correctly. It has been great to see the children retain this and demonstrate how to use this in a dialogue between Mal and Uma (The Descendants). I cannot wait to see the finished article come next week. In maths, we have continued working hard with our fraction topic. The children were multiplying, adding and subtracting mixed number fractions which is not an easy skill to master. We ended the week with a THINK lesson which saw the children given a complex probelm solving question. They worked brilliantly in groups to solve the question and prove how their answer was the correct answer.
In Science, we continued with our earth and Space topic and the children took on the role of the Sun, Moon and Earth to aid them with explaining how the Earth (and the 7 other planets) orbits the sun and how the Moon orbits the Earth. All while rotating on their own independant axis.
The children enjoyed supoporting their classmates in the Upper School Math Bee this morning. Well done to Samule, Aroush, Sid and Holly who were our representatives. Some of the question they were asked to answer on the spot were tricky but to do this so calmly in front of an audience was brilliant to see!
As always, I will finish my weekly round up with a special mention to our Pupil of the Week - well done Sienna thoroughly desereved.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
