Dahl Class Update 21/6/24
Date: 21st Jun 2024 @ 3:20pm
This week in Dahl Class has been nothing short of eventful and engaging. Our week kickstarted with a dynamic Olympic Dance Workshop on Monday, where the children enthusiastically delved into the intricacies of a traditional Chinese dance. The high spirits and energy from this workshop set a vibrant tone for the rest of the week.
Sports Day was a resounding success, with children participating in a variety of activities within their house teams. The level of determination and sportsmanship displayed by all the children was truly commendable, and it was a joy to see everyone enjoying themselves and giving their best efforts.
In English lessons, our focus centred on writing diary entries from the perspective of August Pullman on his first day at school. Emphasising informal language usage and incorporating relative clauses helped enhance the students' writing skills.
In Computing, collaborative efforts came into play as the children completed their stop motion projects using iPads. This practical application of skills not only honed their technical abilities but also teamwork and creativity.
During our Geography topic, the exploration of mountains continued, with a particular focus on comparing the Cambrian mountains in Wales and the majestic Himalayas. This comparative study provided valuable insights into geographical features and their significance.
As we approach the conclusion of Year 5, anticipation is building for our upcoming school trip to Essex Food and Farming. The week may have been busy, but the enriching experiences and the pupils' eagerness to learn made every moment enjoyable and worthwhile.
Have a lovely weekend everyone! See you all on Monday.
