Dahl Class Update 13/10/23

Date: 13th Oct 2023 @ 3:47pm

This week has flown by!

As always, the children have had a great week in Dahl Class. We started the week focusing on modal verbs in English and continuing our multiplication and division topic in maths. Even though we are edging towards the end of term, the children's determination and resilience has shone through in the classroom across all subjects.

With our harvest festival assembly coming up on Monday, we have fitted in two final practice sessions this week before the thing to both parents and the rest of the school on Monday morning. Mr Robertson and I have been blown away with how the children have learnt their lines, stage transitions and lyrics in such a small space of time.

To end the week, the children have been writing persuasive letters to Mrs Hasler requesting a day off school to save the dwarves that have been affected by Smaug the dragon. Having cast one eye over it (before the children get the chance to edit it themselves) I must say the persuasive language was outstanding! This afternoon, the children used forcemeters, jelly and pens to investigate the effects that friction has on different surfaces.

I am pleased to announce that for the second time this half term, we have been recognised for our efforts n SpellingShed. Our certificate, is up in display in the classroom as we still sit in 1st in the school standings. We,l done to all children for working hard towards this achievement and keep it up.

Finally, a special mention to our Pupil of the Week this week - Aroush. Well done Aroush thoroughly deserved!

I hope you all have a restful weekend and I shall see you for the final week of this half term on Monday! Don't forget your singing voices!

Mr Curtis
