Dahl Class Update 12.1.24
Date: 12th Jan 2024 @ 4:09pm
The first full week back in Dahl Class has flown by! The children have settled back in post Christmas in the same way they left off before departing for the holidays - with sheer determination and effort to make the most of their times in the classroom!
This week, we have made a start to all our new topics for this half term. In particular, the children demonstrated a real enthusiasm for our history topic The Tudors. During a research lesson, the children gathered information about the six Tudor monarchs and put together a presentation for their peers about their allocated monarch. They were hooked in by some of the factors that led to kings and queens becoming heads of state. They're very much looking forward to what comes next in our learning journey.
In science, the children dived into our Earth and Space topic and used Aristotles theories to back up their own knowledge of why the Earth, Sun and Moon are spherical in shape. Next week, we move onto the planets in our solar system - something that they're already very knowledgeable on. In art this week, the children finished their inspiration boards about Pablo Picasso as well as listening to an important internet safety assembly led by the Two Johns.
A special mention this week to Aarav who is our Pupil of the Week for his efforts in class. Very well deserved.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend! See you all on Monday for another week jam packed with learning.
